the process
scheduling your appointment
Inquiries
Fill out an Inquiry Form in detail and you will be added to our waitlist. If you have any reference images, please include them in your appointment request. We review all inquiries in the order submitted and send out emails to schedule your appointment at the beginning of each season, so keep an eye on your inbox.
Deposit
We require a deposit to schedule your appointment. Your deposit is non-refundable and will be forfeited for the following reasons:
Cancelling less than 3 days before your appointment date
Not showing up for your appointment
Rescheduling a session more than once
If your deposit was forfeited for any of the above reasons, you will need to put down another deposit to schedule a new appointment.
Rescheduling
Please notify your artist 72 hours in advance via email if you need to reschedule and we will put your deposit towards the new appointment. If you do not arrive for your appointment and do not notify us 72 hours in advance, your deposit will be forfeited.
Preparing for your appointment
Eat
Eating will help you relax and stay comfortable for the tattoo. Low blood sugar increases your risk of passing out and no one wants to get a tattoo while hangry. If you are scheduled for a long session, please feel free to bring a snack.
Hydrate
Drink plenty of water leading up to your tattoo session. Hydrated skin absorbs ink more quickly and evenly, which means a better looking and less painful tattoo. We have plenty of beverages at the studio, so please feel free to help yourself.
No alcohol
We will not tattoo anyone who has been drinking before their session. Alcohol thins your blood, which means your artist will not be able to see what they are doing and the ink will not stay. We’ll also get in trouble with the law.
Wear the right clothes
Wear something that will make it easy to access the spot where you are getting tattooed and that you are ok with potentially get ink-stained. Ex: a tank top or bikini top if your tattoo will be on your upper arms or chest. If you are getting tattooed in a private part of your body, rest assured that we are a private studio and it will only be you and your artist for the duration of your session.
Moisturize
Lotion your skin once or twice a day leading up to your tattoo session, but please don’t moisturize right before your session.
Don’t work out
Try not to work out the area you are getting tattooed for at least two days before your session. It can cause your skin to stretch slightly and will make the tattoo look distorted once your skin is back to normal. Also, getting tattooed on sore muscles is not fun.
what to bring
A water bottle and snacks (we also offer refreshments)
Headphones if you prefer to listen to music
Sunglasses (depending on your tattoo location, the tattoo lights may point at your face)
A blanket in case you get chilly (that you don’t mind potentially getting ink-stained)
During your appointment
service animals
We welcome all service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you are bringing your service animal, please notify your artist ahead of time so we can accommodate you. For the health and safety of all of our clients, we unfortunately cannot allow emotional support animals to enter the studio.
Arrival
Our studio in Boise is located at 4516 W Emerald St, Boise, ID 83706. To protect your privacy and safety during your tattoo, our front door automatically locks. When you arrive for your tattoo, please knock on the front door to be let in.
Relax
If this is your first tattoo, your artist will start with a small poke to see how you feel. Taking slow, steady breaths and trying to relax will make your tattoo experience much more enjoyable.
try to Sit still
Please avoid any sudden movement while you are getting tattooed. If you need a break or want to reposition your body, let your artist know and wait until they tell you it is ok to move. If you are getting a tattoo on your ribs, please avoid talking during your tattoo as that causes your ribs to shift.
Speak up
Your artist will check in with you and make sure you are ok over the course of your session. But if you need a break, want to adjust the furniture to a more comfortable position, or the pain is unbearable, please speak up! We would much rather take a break or schedule another session than have you suffer in silence.
After your appointment
Payment & tipping
We accept credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), cash, and Venmo for payment. If you are happy with your tattoo, it is customary (and much appreciated) to tip. All tips go directly to your artist. We also offer gift cards!
Aftercare
Please follow these aftercare instructions to ensure your tattoo stays looking great. The most important things are to keep your tattoo clean, don’t touch or scratch it, and avoid swimming or soaking your tattoo until it is fully healed.
